Definition
A death cross is read as a shift toward a downtrend. It is a lagging signal because both averages are built from past prices. By the time it prints, much of the decline has usually already happened.
Watch out for
After a death cross, prices have often bounced as well as fallen. It confirms what has occurred; it does not predict.
