Fifty-two-week high / low (52-week range)

The highest and lowest prices a stock has traded at over the past year.

Market BasicsBeginner

Definition

The 52-week range is a quick gauge of where a price sits within its recent history. Many screens and quote pages show it, and traders often watch for prices pushing through either end of the range.

Watch out for

It is a lookback, not a forecast. A stock near its 52-week high can fall and one near its low can keep falling.
