Harami

A small candle contained inside the body of the prior large candle.

Definition

Harami means pregnant in Japanese. The small candle shows momentum slowing after a strong move, which is why it is read as a possible pause or reversal.

Watch out for

It is a weaker signal than an engulfing pattern, and confirmation matters.
