Inverse ETF

A fund designed to move opposite to an index, usually over a single day.

Definition

An inverse ETF aims to rise when the index falls. It is often used as a short-term hedge or bearish trade.

Watch out for

Most inverse and leveraged funds reset daily, so over longer periods their results can differ a lot from the simple opposite of the index.
