Market TheoriesAdvanced

Definition

Richard Wyckoff described markets in cycles of accumulation, markup, distribution and markdown, driven by large participants he called the composite man. The method focuses on how price and volume behave inside ranges.

Watch out for

The phases are easier to identify afterward than while they are happening. Use it as a way to organize observations, not as a map to predict where price is going.
