Trade Desk: what happened, what is coming and what to watch
The Trade Desk is a set of scheduled market reports built around the trading day: the economic data and futures before the open, options flow through the session, and a recap after the close, with desks for crypto and for Canadian markets.
Pre-market and post-market reports
A pre-market report is generated each trading morning around the 8:30 AM economic data releases such as CPI, PPI, jobs and jobless claims, and combines them with overnight futures and TSX pre-market. A post-market report follows after the close with a session recap. Reports are auto-generated and say so on the page.
Options Desk
The Options Desk summarises options flow in three updates through the day: the morning flow, a mid-day update and an into-the-close update, covering the day's dominant theme and the balance between call and put volume.
Crypto Desk and TSX / Canadian markets
A crypto desk update and a TSX and Canadian markets digest cover the markets that trade outside the US cash session, so the picture is complete when you sit down to plan the next day.
Macro snapshot, calendar and archive
A macro snapshot lists the major indexes, VIX, the 10-year yield, the dollar, crude, gold, CAD/USD and Bitcoin, an economic calendar shows upcoming events, and an archive keeps earlier reports so you can look back at how a theme developed.
More daily reports in the news feed
The desk also publishes reports such as dark pool, unusual options activity, retail radar, insider activity and consumer pulse as articles in the News Feed. Each article has its own page with a summary visible to everyone.
