Market Structure & FlowIntermediate

Definition

Flow scanners flag contracts where volume is large relative to open interest, or where a big premium trades at once. It can point to a big bet, a hedge or a spread leg.

Watch out for

Without knowing the other leg of the trade, it is not clear what the position is. Many unusual trades are hedges.
